rain rain go away

This week has just been wet, wet and cold and very wet. I feel like we've somehow been transported to the northwest. This feels like being back in Vancouver, so I've been feeling nostalgic for home but my mom sends me daily videos via instagram of all the snow which is kind of crazy for Vancouver too. Crazy weather all around.
I've been tucked in cozy, hardly leaving the house unless I have to. Maggie has been bouncing off the walls because of very little playtime at the dog park. I've taken to carrying around my camera and taking little videos when I remember. I hope to keep doing that, I am trying to dust off my skills. I used to do little videos all the time but I'm quite rusty. I made one below, just bits of my past week. I'll get better with a little more practice. I was walking maggie outside so she kept pulling and my hand wasn't all that steady, oh well.  I'll call them my weekly snippets.
I've been knitting and baking and last week I had ordered a replenishment of my favorite herbs for tea. I ordered from a different company this time and now I am fully stocked. I have ordered from Davids Tea but what I have found is that unless its just simple black tea, I am not a fan of their tea blends. I stick to what I know I like now and making up my own is best. Chamomille, Spearmint, Peppermint, Lemongrass and Lemon Balm are what I keep in my cupboards. I just add what I want to my teapot and let it steep. Mountain Rose herbs is where I normally order but they were out of some the things I wanted. Now they do have some lovely blends, the Fairytale blend is so yum!
In the mail this past week, I got some beautiful yarn. I could't resist the new colorways by Yoth. I ordered some lavender in the dk weight and it is heaven. I have started just a big, squishy garter shawl. Nothing fancy but it will keep me warm when its done of course by then the sun will be back and winter will be gone. I loved the color. Lavender is one of my favorite colors.

  1. I don't know why I never thought to just blend my own tea. Thanks for the great idea!

  2. Such gorgeous and gentle photos! Sounds like a good idea to buy herbs in bulk and prepare your own tea. I have told myself to do exactly that but never done it yet. Love that tea strainer! Thanks for sharing and may you have marvelous week!

Thanks so much for stopping by. I love to read your comments.
