Pattern & Yarn Giveaway

I  love trying out new to me yarns especially when I get to play with them.
I have a lovely yarn to share with you by an amazing company called Bijou Basin Ranch

Lhasa Wilderness is a lovely 75/25 blend of yak & bamboo.
The colorway I chose is called Sassenach.
If you are an outlander fan, you will love this reference and this entire yarn line will speak to you.
The colors are beautiful, shiny and vibrant. Something for everyone.
This is my first time knitting with yak. I love it!
Loved every second of knitting with it!
The yak feels like cashmere and the bamboo makes this yarn shine.
I wasn't expecting this yarn to be so soft and feel so warm. Soft and very warm it is!
I cast on a simple but pretty pattern called Antiquity Mitts by the knitwear designer Alicia Plum
My project page is here for more details.

Its not a high twist yarn with that said I didn't find the yarn to be splitty as with some bamboo yarns.
It has a very light halo so I definitely recommend it for accessories like scarves, hats or mittens.
I think this yarn would be knit up beautifully as a shawl perhaps a hap type shawl.
The yarn drapes very nicely even at a tighter gauge and would be so warm around the shoulders on
those cold winter nights.
This is a great alternative for those of you who have allergies or are sensitive to
scratchy fibres against the skin.
I soaked my knits in a sample of the new wool wash available at Bijou Basin Ranch called Allure.
Its a really lovely wool wash, natural ingredients and lightly scented. I used the woodland mist scent.
The water color only changed ever so slightly but I would be absolutely sure that it would be fine if you were worried about trying other colors.

Now for the giveaway,
Bijou Basin Ranch has generously sent along an extra skein of Lhasa Wilderness for one of you in the Brianna Color a rustic autumn orange and the ever so lovely Alicia Plum is also giving away a copy of her pattern Antiquity Mitts so you can knit up a pair for yourself.

Please leave a comment below with your email address & Ravelry ID  and be sure to let me know what is your favorite color from the Outlandish line! I will announce the winner just before christmas.

**Discaimer**
It was a pleasure to knit with this yarn and the
opinions above are all my own.
The yarn and wool wash was very generously sent to me by
Bijou Basin Ranch and Stitchcraft Marketing.

  26. I love your fingerless gloves very much. Sure, I'd love to enter your contest. I also really love that they've named the line after Diana Gabaldon's Outlander series. I met her at a writers' conference years ago and thought she was an absolutely vivacious and ever-so-interesting person. It was hard to pick a favourite colour because there are two that I really really like but have chosen the Jacobite (natural cream) as my fave.
